    Edisto Baptist Church-1875

At Farrell’s Crossroads on Highway 61 stands Edisto Baptist Church, which has long been the bulwark of the Edisto Community and is today one of the most active rural churches in the county. Its members come from the surrounding areas, including Branchville, Smoaks, and Bamberg. Once having been embraced within its fold, it is difficult for those who move away to relinquish their place in the congregation. This church is one of the few rural churches that maintain their own attractive brick parsonage and support a full-time minister. Unlike most rural churches, Edisto has a large children’s enrollment in Sunday School to insure its future.
