 Colleton County - 1825 Mills Atlas

Note:  These pages were photocopied from the Mills Atlas in the Charleston library around 1999.  I taped them together at that time, and have done my best to scan them.  They do overlap in certain areas, and some small areas are missing, so please forgive my poor attempts to reconstruct.  Note where NORTH is on the map, it can be difficult to get oriented while viewing in the current position of the map. The Edisto River is now the northern border of Colleton County, dividing Colleton from Dorchester County.

TO PRINT:   

If you  open the image and hit "Print" it will print in full size, and  will not all fit onto a letter sized page.
Unless you have the ability to print on 11x17 paper, this is the best way to print each section:


  • With your mouse, right click on the image and save it to your computer.
  • Start a new Word  document (or any other word processing), and reduce the margins as much as your printer allows.
  • Import the image into your document, and print in high resolution.

You'll need to follow these steps for each section of the map.  Remember, they do not fit together perfectly, so you may need to cut and tape.  Be sure to look at NORTH, and turn the sections accordingly.
