GOLDIN
This is my first attempt to learn about how my father's family came to America, in the late 19th century, and hopefully to find info leading to any surviving relatives. I only know that my great-uncles David & Benjamin Goldin first established themselves in Walterboro,SC, sometime between 1880 and 1900, having come from Eastern Poland (what is now Byelorus)either the town of Kosovo or Rijnoi(Rozana) and that they both later moved to Atlanta. At least one of them had children born in Walterboro, a son named Gullie and a daughter possibly name Lennie. Jack Golden, 312 East 48th St, Savannah,Georgia 31405 tel.(912)236-8079 |

GOODWIN
I am trying to locate detailed sources of information about my GOODWIN family ancestors. They are from Colleton County, SC. James Sr. GOODWIN born Oct. 23, 1795 in Williams SC is the son of Isham GOODWIN and Mary. Isham was born between 1740-1770 and is the son of James GOODWIN born in Ireland in 1720-1740. I am looking for info about their lives in SC and possibly ship's passenger list confirming where James may have arrived from Ireland. |

GRANT - HARGRAVES
Seeking info on Jefferson Grant, born ca 1808, lived Colleton County,
disappeared around the time of the Civil War, I suspect he died for the
cause. Married Rachel Hargraves or Hargroves, born ca 1809, she is still
in Colleton County after the war.

GRIMES - BRANSON/BRONSON
I am searching for info on James and Julia GRIMES who lived in Colleton County in 1898, in Collins township. Julia's name may have been a BRANSON, or BRONSON, or something similar. We only have one definite fact - James and Julia had a son, James H. GRIMES, born on 14 April 1902. Apparently, there were several other children, but the only other names we have are Joe and Nora. |
