Richard S. Sillivant To Pinckney Brown Know all men by these presents that we Richard S. Sillivant, Hamilton
W. Clayton, Sarah H. Brownlee, William H. Cobia, Laurence M. Greene,
Elizabeth H. Sillivant, Jane R. Cobia, Ann R. Green and Mary S. Brownlee
in the county of Colleton and the state aforesaid for and in consideration
of the sum of Two Hundred dollars legal currency of the United States,
to us paid by Pinckney Brown of the county and state aforesaid have granted,
bargained, sold and released unto the said Pinckney Brown aforesaid all
that piece or parcel of land lying and being the county and state aforesaid
on the North west side of Four Hole Swamp on the Branch known as the Powder
Horn Branch and a part of the tract known as the homestead of Mr. George
Clayton Des. Containing Two Hundred and Eight acres (more or less).The
above mentioned land was a tract granted to James Pendarvis and A. Halland,
was deeded to the above mentioned George Clayton Decs., his children above
mentioned and has such boundries as a plat hereunto annexed. Drawn by Louis
A. Strobel D.S. as will more fully and clearly represent to have and to
hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Pinckney
Brown, his heirs, executors and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves,
our administrators and our executors to warrant and forever defend the
premises above described unto the said Pinckney Brown, his heirs, and assigns
against ourselves, our executors and administrators or assigns and also
against all persons now claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof
. Forever witness our hands and seals this the 11th Day of February one
thousand eight hundred and seventy three and in the 97th year of the independence

D.L. Clayton. State of South Carolina county of Colleton personally
appeared D.S. Clayton and made oath that he saw the witness named R.S.
Sillivant, E.H. Sillivant, H.W. Clayton, Ann M. Clayton, L.M. Greene, A.R.
Greene, S.H. Brownlee, M.S. Brownlee, W.H. Cobia, J.R. Cobia, sign seal
and as their act and deed deliver the within instrument of writing for
the uses and purposes therein mentioned and that he with L.H. Strobel,
John Clayton, C. Durr and Jas. G. Pendarvis witnessed its execution. D.S.
Clayton sworn to before me Oct. 8th 1874 ________.
