were her children's friends.  She survived her husband about twenty years, dying 

peacefully and full of faith on November 12, 1934, at the home of her son, Randolph,

in Orangeburg, and being buried at Live Oak in Walterboro.  Randolph resembled 

her.

     The children inherited for the most part the physical appearance of the Foremans, 

and qualities of steadfast character, along with my father's manner.

Some of them are blend of the two parents.  Thomas alone of the living children 

does not resemble the Foremans physically.  He has the figure and blue eyes of 

the Howells, and possesses their acumen and prescience to a marked degree.
