my notes:  Is this Charles Rowell the Charles Rowell who appears in the 1880 census in the household of James Raysor Stokes and Catharine Stokes?  Catharine Stokes was nee Rowell from her obituary.  This Catharine Rowell Stokes is likely the sibling of James Rowell who married Jane Hoffman.  After their deaths James & Catharine Rowell Stokes raised the James Rowell orphans, Alice & Margaret.  Alice married Thomas Raysor Risher and Margaret married a Mr. Smoaks.  Both are buried at Providence in Round O.
