Obituary - 1919

ROBERT C (NICK) BRABHAM-   PRESS & STANDARD Jan 22, 1919 Pg 2

Williams, January 20 (1919)--- R C Brabham had a stroke of paralysis of the brain Wednesday, and lived about two hours after he was taken. A physician was summoned and did all for him that could be done.

He was a member of the Methodist church here and was a big stake in the church. We will miss him very much here in the church. He was on the building committee, and said that he intended to have a church here if he had it to build himself, and we must say that he certainly did do his part and a little more, too, towards building it.

Mr Brabham was born in Barnwell County May 5th, 1861, and would have been 58 years old his next birthday. He moved here about twenty years ago and has been keeping store and farming here ever since. It will be remembered that he was postmaster here for sometime.

The funeral was held here Thursday at 11 o'clock at the Methodist church and was attended by a large number of his relatives and friends. The services were conducted by Rev D H Everette, of Ruffin, and Rev W B McCuen, of Lodge.

He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Eliza O'Quinn before their marriage; two brothers W J Brabham, postmaster here; C H Brabham, of Olar; one sister, Mrs A E Campbell, of Islandton, and the following children: May, R J, Sadie and Lucille Brabham, all of this place.
