The camp is built in a circle, with an open air pavillion in the center.  Although the cabins vary somewhat in size, they each have the same design.  Each has a covered front and back porch.  The back porch is a kitchen with a fireplace for cooking.  A dogtrot connects the front and back porches, running along one side of the cabin.  The only interior room has a dirt floor, no windows and a sleeping loft.  Not without modern convenience, each cabin has it's own outhouse across the road.  Read about the history of the Indian Field Campground at the Indian Field United Methodist Church web site:  Indian Field Campground History.
