REEVESVILLE METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY

Location: Intersection of Church and Whetsell Streets, Reevesville, SC.Established in 1872 as "A PREACHING PLACE," and in 1874 an Official Board was elected. - Re. Rev. Betts' HISTORY OF ST. GEORGE METHODIST CHURCH. South Carolina Rail Road Company conveyed to Trustees of Methodist Episcopal Church March 15, 1872, Colleton County, SC in consideration of one dollar paid by Trustees (C. R. Council, W. P. Appleby, and B. B. Berry) . . . The SCRR Co. granted a lot in the town of Reeves on Southwestern side of S C R R tract, and being part of a certain tract of land purchased in 1832 from A. Black and Peter Martineau . . . lot No. 16 . . . measures 150 feet on each side and is square. Recorded in Colleton County transcripts to Dorchester County in Deed Book 6, p. 159 on 24 November 1888.
