RIGGS FAMILY CEMETERY

Located on Hwy 78 about a quarter mile west of the intersection of Hwy 27 and Hwy 78 in Dorchester County near Ridgeville. It is on the left side of the road in a pasture in a stand of trees.

aged 64 years 5 mo & 9 days
Here rests
A tender mother unfortunate wife
Resigned in every scene of life
To heavenly court did repair
May those she loved all meet her there

Consort of William Riggs Jr
Born 16th Decr 1786
and with her infant child
Died 20th Septr 1829
aged 43 years 9 mo & 4 days
Farewell dear Wife
While here embraced by death
The mortal part doth rest
our happy soul rejoicing now
With God is ever blest
