Mrs. Frankie T. Fulmer, 61 of 3250 Wire Road, St. George, died Sunday December 28, 2003, in Roper Hospital, Charleston.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the St. Matthews Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Futrell officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be members of Walterboro City Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Mayor, Council Members, and employees of City of Walterboro.

Mrs. Fulmer was born May 30, 1942, in Charleston, a daughter of David Frank Thompson and Helen Cockcroft Thompson. She was a graduate of Chicora High School and Conedy Business School. She was Personnel Director for the City of Walterboro and a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church where she was Director of Sunday School, and Adult II Teacher .

Surviving include a son, C. Lawson Fulmer Jr. and his wife, Kay ; daughter, Amy F. Hardeeand her husband Larry; grandchildren, Kerri Fulmer, Ed Fulmer, Emily Hardeeand Shelby Hardee, all of St. George; sister, Judith T. De Long, San Antonio, Texas; nephew, Jay DeLong, St. George, and niece, Ceryl D. King, Charleston.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m.Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home of St. George.

John Thompson "JT" Greene Jr., 91, of 109 Minus St., St. George, husband of Jeanette C. Greene, died Friday, September 23, 2005, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, in Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Washington Belangia officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Harry Collins, Al Metts, David Steward, Jerry Blackwell, Jim Bell and Don Hay.

Mr. Greene was born November 24, 1913, a son of the late John Thompson Greene Sr. and Adele Cannon Greene.

He was first married to late Miriam Patrick Greene and predeceased by a grandson, John "#Tommy" Greene IV.

He was the former owner of Greene#'s Restaurant and Service Station. He attended Clemson College, and was a member ofSt. George United Methodist Church. "JT#" was a licensed pilot, a Ham Radio operator; his call letters were K4QWS and KG4GLB. A Hobo, he had a map, diary, and loved to tell stories about the two years he rode the freight trains crossing the country to California and back in the 1930#'s.

- Wilson Birnell "Biddie" Gruber, 82, of 1534 Highway 15, South, St. George died Friday, December 26, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 2008 at St. Matthews Baptist Church with the Reverend Doug Dixon and Donel Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in St. George Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jack Kirlin, Jim Kirlin, Vernon Ott, Jr., Franklin McAlhany, Ernest Jackson, Jackie Herndon, Greg Gruber and Tommy Weeks. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George. Mr. Biddie was born on November 29, 1926 in Charleston a son of the late John William Gruber, Sr. and Alma Ellen Ott Gruber. He was a graduate of Walterboro High School, attended Newberry College and the University of South Carolina as a member of the United States Navy V-12 Officer training program and was shipped out to Shanghai until the end of WW II. He was a farmer for 60 years and was active in Farmers Markets in Walterboro, Summerville and Mt. Pleasant and was famous for Gruber's Sweet Corn. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church and was a trustee and was a former Director of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau. He loved and supported Dorchester Academy and its sports programs. He was predeceased by his son, Steven William Gruber and brothers, John W. Gruber, Jr. and Robert St. Clair Gruber.

Virginia was born on September 29, 1922 in Ridgeville (Givhans) a daughter of the late Wheeler Washington and Annie Martin Pooser. She was a graduate of Ridgeville High School, a co-owner with her husband of Herbie's Men Shop in St. George and Holly Hill.

Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lillian was born on April 19, 1918, in Pregnall, a daughter of the late Marion Edward and Bertha Kizer Weathers. She was a homemaker, member of Memorial Baptist Church where she was past leader of the Rankin Wells Circle and the WMU. She had a great love for the Edisto River where she and her husband owned a home and enjoyed fishing and entertaining their friends. She is predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Weathers, Vernon Weathers and Edward Weathers.

Paul W. Hutto, 93, of 400 Minus Street, St. George, husband of Lillian Weathers Hutto, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Trident Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Memorial Baptist Church, where he was the oldest living member, with the Rev. Clayton Smoak officiating. Burial will be in St. George Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hutto was born October 12, 1913, in Dorchester County, a son of the late James William and Annie Smoak Hutto. He was the retired owner of Hutto Pontiac-Olds-GMC and the former general manager of Sojourner Chevrolet for a number of years. He was a deacon of Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Omar Shrine Temple and Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 61, where he was the oldest past master. He had a great love for the Edisto River where he owned a home and enjoyed fishing for redbreast and shad, especially with his good friends, Marion Beaudrot, Willie Hartzog, Bobby Utsey and Walter Hutto. He was predeceased by siblings, Azel J. Hutto, Gus J. Hutto, Esther H. McAlhany, Zilphia H. Brunner, Elise H. Felder and Jimmie H. McAlhany.

Jean Laferriere was born March 31, 1924 in Providence Rhode Island a daughter of the late Harold Peck and Anna Croughan Peck. She was a graduate of Bridgewater State Teachers College in Massachusetts, she was an elementary school teacher in North Carolina and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Greenwood.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Joseph Laferriere, Sr. Surviving : One Son, Ernest J. Laferriere, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Two Daughters, Frances L. Mr. Simons was born Oct. 14, 1944, in St. George, a son of the late Preston Herbert "Curly" and Annie Ruth Fender Simons. He was a 1962 graduate of St. George High School and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He served with the Air Force during Vietnam and was a former correctional officer at Lieber Correctional Institute.

Lois Bernic Waggoner, 74, of 130 Shortcut Road in Dorchester, wife of Kenneth F. Waggoner died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at Trident Medical Center. Kenny Waggoner has served on Dorchester County Council since 1972.

Funeral services were held last night at Grace Pointe Baptist Church with the Reverends Jakie Walters and Craig Crosby officiating. Visitation was held before the service from 5-7 p.m. at the church in Reevesville. Burial was held at today at 11 a.m., at St. George Memorial Gardens. Lois was born in Knoxville, Tenn. on Dec. 30, 1933 a daughter of the late James Lafayette and Mary Louellen Greer Welchel. She was a member of the Elms Street Baptist Church, Knoxville, the Ladies Club of Southern Railway and a member of the Democratic Party.

George Russell Westbury, 70, of 603-B Horne St., St. George, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Trident Medical Center, Charleston.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in Grover United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Ritter and the Rev. Fred Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Westbury was born November 23, 1933, in Grover, a son of the late Robert and Ella Roberts Westbury. He was a carpenter. He attended St. George public schools, served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Grover United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by brothers, Jerral Robert Westbury, Morris Durward Westbury, and John Wesley Westbury.
