CHAUNCEY WILLIAM REED was born June 2, 1890 in West Chicago, Du Page Cty, IL. He passed away February 9, 1956 in Bethesda, MD. Chauncey Reed was a Representative from Illinois. He attended public schools in West Chicago, and later, Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He became the city treasurer of West Chicago, IL in 1913 and 1914. He graduated from the Webster College of Law, Chicago, IL in 1915 and was admitted to the Bar the same year. He began his practice in Naperville, IL. During the World War I, he served as a sergeant of Infantry, 86th Division. After the War, he resumed his practice of law in Naperville, IL. He later served as State's Attorney in Du Page County from 1920 - 1935. He also was chairman of Du Page County Republican central commitee 1926-1934. Chauncey W. Reed was elected as a Republican to the 74th
and to the

succeeding Congresses, and served from January 3, 1935,
until his
death in
Bethesda, MD on February 9, 1956. During this time, he was
