Flat Creek (Level Creek)
United Methodist Church Cemetery

Suwanee Dam Road, Suwanee, Georgia
Level Creek UMC

Address:  4844 Suwanee Dam Road, Suwanee, Georgia  30024

Telephone:  770 – 345-0205

Directions:

Take GA-985 to Exit 4 (GA-20).  Go North on GA-20 (Nelson Brogdon Road) for about 2 ½ miles.  Turn left on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.  Go 3 ½  miles and turn right on Suwanee Dam Road.  Go to Flat Creek Road and turn left.  The church and cemetery are on the left at the corner of Suwanee Dam Road and Flat Creek Road.

About the Cemetery:

Flat Creek UMC Cemetery is well maintained by the church.  Some stones are very old,  weathered and difficult to read.  The oldest date of burial is 1805.  There were approximately 580 individuals buried with markers at the cemetery at the time of this transcription.  There is evidence that there are additional graves that do not have a marker.  The cemetery is still being actively used for burials.  Many family groups are surrounded by a stone, brick, granite, or marble threshold.  Many headstones serve to identify two or more individuals.  Some are obviously husband and wife but other relationships are represented, such as a child or sibling.

About this transcription:

HS = headstone        FS = footstone

For purposes of this transcription, the cemetery has been divided into four sections, A-D, and identified by compass points.  Inscriptions that are unreadable or blank are indicated by a line (_____).  A group or paired stone is identified above the first person and each person is separated by a dashed line (-----------).  Epitaphs are in lower case.  Any special designs on stones are listed in lower case letters in parenthesis.
