Post Office Dome

The New Post Office Building, Chicago
Post Office

Post Office

I am told that the new building was designed by Henry Ives Cobb. It was demolished in 1965.  The building became the site of the Federal courthouse and offices after the completion of the new Main Post Office in 1932.  It is now the site of a Federal office building and post office.
I admit that off all my Chicago postcards, the close up of the dome is one of my favorites.
