CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
State Street Lithograph
19th CENTURY LITHOGRAPH IMAGES

As time permits, I am scanning at high resolution lithographs of Chicago.  As with the vintage postcards, I am digitally cleaning and enhancing the contrast slightly.  They are from a Columbian Exposition souvenir album, and most images probably date to the late 1870s to early 1880s.  Many street scenes show horse drawn street cars, and many buildings were new at the time of publication.  Some buildings built between the Chicago fire and the Columbian Exposition had been destroyed before view postcards were developed.

Some images are larger than a standard postcard, and others are smaller.  At a resolution of 600 dpi, any of these images will work well for publication or enlargements.

If anyone expresses an interest, I will create a page for the lithograph images.  I'll list them here as I have scanned and restored them, and there are many more to come.  If you are looking for a particular image, please ask.  I may have it.  Pat Sabin
