 Buried at Cross Anchor Cemetery, Greene County, TN Elizabeth
is our great-great-grandmother, mother of our Jesse Emerson Davis
(called "Emerson"). Her husband, Jesse, died in 1864. He is not
buried in the cemetery, and speculation is that he may be the Jesse
Davis buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville. However, I
have not located a Widow's Pension for Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Jane Shanks married Jesse Davis April 15, 1841 in Greene County, Tennessee. I have not been able to positively connect Elizabeth with any Shanks family in Greene or Washington County. She raised seven sons. Back to Davis Family Album |
