Interested in Hosting a
  GAGenWeb County Site?

Whether you host a County, State, or Special Project site, your participation is Welcome!  Below are links to information about "adopting" a county site at GAGenWeb.

If you feel that you do not have the time or skills to host a county website, please consider how you may honor your ancestors and make a contribution to FREE online genealogy by contributing to USGenWeb county sites or Special Projects such as the USGenWeb Archives.   USGenWeb Special Projects are listed on this page: http://usgenweb.org/projects/index.shtml

My history with the USGenWeb Project, and what it means to me...I have been an avid genealogist and local historian for decades.  I became involved in online genealogy through the USGenWeb Project and RootsWeb forums in 1997, and adopted my first USGenWeb county site in 1999.  I could write a book about what I DIDN'T  know about proper genealogy research and building web pages in 1999!  I appreciate the support and encouragement I got from fellow USGenWeb Project volunteers, and now I host six USGenWeb county sites in four states:
New London County CTGenWebDuPage County ILGenWebBamberg County SCGenWeb, Colleton County SCGenWeb, Dorchester County SCGenWeb, and Gwinnett County GAGenWeb (where I live).

With all the commercial "pay for view" (or be subjected to advertisements and tracking), I am proud that the USGenWeb Project  is dedicated to FREE access to genealogy for all people.  Offering information and assistance, expecting nothing in return,  is what Volunteerism is all about.   Sometimes, it means long hours of updating and uploading images and documents, but even after a 12 hour work day, I've spent fifteen minutes before bedtime to update a web page.  To be a part of this greater community, and connect every day with other genealogist in the beginning, middle, or end of their research, is my pleasure.
