Date: February 15, 1979

On 15 February 1979 Mr. Mark Fowler, Mrs. "Bunt" Simpson, and Mrs. Evelyn M. Hughes set out in a jeep to find the Old Brownlee Cemetery. They had no direct directions, Mr. Fowler remembering discovering the old Burial Ground about twenty years ago, and he recalled the Old Brownlee house standing about ten years ago. They searched in all directions with no success, when about to give up, they found Earl Zeigler who lived in a small house and he seemed to know everything, the family of Brownlees he had worked for when younger, and said he plowed the field next the cemetery and would go there to rest during the noon, but had not been there in many years. The searchers persuaded Zeigler to help them find this cemetery and he went with them back almost to Walnut Swamp, after separating and hunting, finally they found the stones of two graves.
