Recorded in Book 1, page 131 of Colleton County Transcripts to Dorchester County 1897, housed in Clerk of Court's vault
for said county is the following: C. B. Farmer, C. E. to John Brownlee - . . . whereas John Brownlee on or about the 17th
day of February 1855 did exhibit his petition in the Court of Equity at Walterborough. . . against Andrew D. Way, Guardian
ad Litem setting forth inter alla that George Brownlee died intestate many years ago leaving as his estate a certain Tract
of Land Called Walnut Tract in St. George's Parish, which was bequeathed to him by his late Father John Brownlee, Senr,
and further that John Brownlee, Senr. also left a small Tract of Pine land undisposed of by his will situate also in St.
Georges Parish. All which he prayed should be sold. . . And the cause being at issue before the Honorable Court aforesaid
came to be heard at February setting 1855. . . order, adjudge, and decree that the lands. . . should be sold at public
Auction. . . by public Outcry. . . and according to the custom of auction sell and dispose of the said lands below described
unto John Brownlee for the sum of "Two thousand 666 dollars & 69 cents" being. . . the highest bidder. All of the said
Tract except one acre the Burial Ground which with the right of ingress and egress is hereby expressly reserved to the
family of the John Brownlee, Senr. and is not intended to be conveyed by these presents, so as to interfere with the right
of burial of the said family as heretofore enjoyed by them. . . . . . and by virtue of the said Decretal Order have hereunto set
my hand and seal at Walterborough this seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty
five, and in the 79th year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America. Witnessed by (Signed) C.

waters of Four holes, and hath such courses and distances Shapes and Marks Buttings and Boundings as are represented
