Location: Givhans Ferry Cemetery is located in Givhans Ferry State Park at the town of Givhans, South Carolina, SC Hwy 61 and S-18-30 in Dorchester County, north side of the picturesque Edisto River.

History: The 1820 survey of Colleton District, South Carolina, by Saml. A. Ruddock, improved for Mills Atlas 1825, shows Givhan Ferry's location as above described. About two miles south of the Ferry was a family by name of Fords and a little further was another family named Givhan on the Old Charleston Road. The only inscription on the one remaining tombstone enclosed within a fence on the bank of the Edisto River in Givhans Ferry State Park is listed below. It is believed there are others buried here, but the monuments were destroyed or obliterated before the State made a park of this historic site, which is now a beautiful well-kept recreation area.
