Location: Northwest of State Highway No. 27, East of intersection S-18-244, near Givhans, SC.Mrs. Gwen W. Kinard visited this old burial ground in 1970, at which time there were only a few tombstones remaining and the Church had been gone for a number of years. Sharon Methodist Church was evidently founded before 1849, how long before is not known, but Frances Asbury did not refer to it during his travels. A son of William Wiggins, who was born in 1846, and his wife Elizabeth, died when 2 years and 9 months old, which would have been September of 1849. This is the oldest stone remaining. William Wiggins and Elizabeth, his wife, had twin sons, another son, and a daughter buried in this cemetery. One of the twins passed away early. It is believed there were many more graves in this cemetery, but they have been obliterated. This cemetery's inscriptions were not alphabetized for the reason of keeping the family together as was reported to the committee.Copyist: Gwen W. KinardDate: 1970
