Peter F. Kizer died on Poke Swamp St. Georges parish Colleton Co. So. Ca. January the 5th 1870 Aged I suppose over 60 years.

Aunt Catharin Murray wife of Isaac Murray died at their plantation on Cypress swamp May the 27th 1870.  She waS the daughter Baltus Inabnet senr and first married David Hughs my maternal uncle & had two children by him, all of whome & their children are dead, and the property had gone into the possession of strangers, before the Yankees robbed us of our rights & property, Aunt Caty was very industrious to the last, and from large wealth was reduced very low by the Yankee robberies, looseing about 100 negroes or more.

Mrs. Sarah May widow of Capt. John May died at Georges Sta Oct 7th 1870.  She was a Tucker and once rode in her carriage, but the robberies of the Yankee government reduced her to poverty, and since May 1865 she has lived on charity, her niece Harriet Tucker nursed her like her own child.  Aged about 70 years.

Gen Robert E. Lee the great Confederate chieftain died at Lexington Virginia Oct 12th 1870.  His widow is an invalid and the grand-daughter of Mrs. Gen. Geo Washington.  The Yankee thieves robbed her of her property and left her in poverty.  R. E. Lee aged 63 y 8 mo 23 d.

Anna Strobel wife of Dr. Jno. E. Strobel and daughter of Dr. Wm. & Elizabeth M. Murray died Oct 18th 1870, she was long afflicted, young in years, but --------, handsome & good in life.  she was buried by her mother in the family burying ground.  Aged over 28 years.

O-Bryan Shuler son of Lewis Shuler liveing in St. Mathews parish in fork of Four Hole & Providence Swamps, died in Sept 1870.  Aged over 60 years.

Thos J. Sistrunk son of Susanna & Geo. Sistrunk died March 1868.

William Y. Griffith of Reeves' Sta. So. Ca. R. R. died Nov. 8th 1870.  He was insured in the policy Holders life & Tontine assurance Co. of Charleston by L. W. Harper for $1000.00, and had only paid one quarter's premium.

Bishop James Osgood Andrew senr, Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal church South, died at Mobile Ala. March the 2d 1871, he was born in Elbert Co. Ga. in 1793, being 78 years old.  He was elected Bishop in 1832.  The church divided in 1844 because Bishop Andrews wife owned slaves, he was continued Bishop in the Church South, the Church was composed of 33 annual Conferences up to 1844, Thirteen then seceeded, because the abolitionist thieves wished to suspend Bishop Andrew, the theives promiseing to divide the common property, but then refused, but the church South gained it at law.

For similar reasons the Southern States seceeded in 1861, but were conquered, robbed and plundered by the North or Yankees in 1865, and the robbery still continues in 1871.

Adam Moorer of Orangeburg Co. near Shiloh church died April 3d 1871.  Aged 80 y or over.

Mrs. Catherine Furches widow  ____________________ and daughter of David Moorer near Shiloh church Orangeburg Co. was born about  ___ 1794.

Mrs. Rachael Cox wife Rev. Cox died near Cattle creek church Orangeburg Co. So. Ca. 1871 aged 70 years.

Mrs. Elizabeth Myers mother of Mrs. Mariah Tongue Moorer died friday June 23d 1871, very old, perhaps 90, she had several great grand children, one great grand daughter Anna Moorer daughter of M. J. Moorer grown.

Hamilton Mallerd son of Mary Mallerd and now wife of Andrew Helton died of dropsy July 30th 1871.

Isaac Marion Dwight now of Boonesville Missouri was born June 20th 1799.

Mrs. Charity Byrd wife of Daniel Byrd and daughter of Col Abraham and Nancy Rumph died Nov. 3d 1871, before the 1st monday.

Peter K. Couborn of Summerville, long in the emply of the So. Ca. R. R. Co.  died Jany 10th 1872 at Summerville.

John Whitsel of Orangeburg Disct was born in July 1786 and died of dropsy August 2d 1871.

Enoch Pendarvis was born February 1801

Mrs. Susan Mallerd was a Helton and born in 1791 and died Sept 30th 1871.

Major John Strobel now of Spartanburg, but born in Colleton was born on August 29th 1799, was seventy years old in August last.

President Pierce Moorer & Mrs. E. D. F. Murray daughter of Maj. D. Moorer & Treacy daughter of Capt D. Strobel & wofe Elizabeth daughter of Jno. Aberly, were married January 20th 1870.

Mr. Alfred Hugor died in Charleston May 14th 1872.  He was born in Charleston Nov. 1st 1788 and was in his 84th year, he represented St. Thomas parish in the Senate 12 years from 1820 to 32 & was turned out by the Nullifiers, he waS then appointed Postmaster of Charleston by President A. Jackson but would not sonsent for M. Bacot who was a Nullifier, and had been appointed by President C. Washington, to be turned out, but when Mr. Bacot died in 1835 he was appointed, and served until he was turned out by the infamous Yankee government in 1865, after they had robbed him like other true southern of nearby all he had, and burnt his house on his plantation on the Eastern branch of Cooper river, and stolen his stock as well as robbed him of his negroes.  He had fifty cents in specie when the war ended in 1865.  This is what the best government the world ever saw, the United States government, did.  He was called the last of the Barons by a Yankee newspaper reported (?), when reduced by his infamous government to poverty and his country ruined, that is the Southern Confederacy.

Mr. Peter Rowe of Lexington Disct was one hundred year old May 12th 1872.  Col. John M. Shingler of St. James G. Ck died in Spring of 1872 aged about 80, and Col. David Shuler of St. Matthews in May 1872, aged about 80 years also.

Mr. Peter Rowe of Lexington Disct alias Co. died in June about the 12th at Col. Donald Barton's his nephew, in Orangeburg Co., and was buried at New Hope church near Rowes Pump So. Ca. R. R.   He was a bachelor and wealthy before he was robbed by the Yankee alias U. S. government.

Charles M. Firman died in Charleston July 3d 1872 aged 75, Formerly President of the bank of the State of So. Ca., and a member of the seccession Convention, and held many offices when men of inteligence, wealthy & honor ruled the country.

David A. Warner will be forty two years old (42) the 13th December 1872.

James P. Appleby of Edisto son of Jas. P. Appleby died in Febry 1873 of apoplexy about 75 years old, he was the last of his brothers his father and two of his brothers died suddenly with same disease.

Mrs. Elizabeth Moorer widow of R. E. Moorer and daughter of Wm. Murray died April 2d 1873, her mother was a daughter of David & Susanna Hughs my grand parents, and was my own cousin, our grand-mother was a daughter of John Aberly a Swiss or German.  She was a good woman and have no doubt her death was hastened by the roberies of the Yankees, being reduced by it from affluance to poverty, although she seldom or never complained. She was in her 67th year.        D. Gavin

Mrs. Elizabeth Connor widow of Jno. Connor and daugher of Frederick Carr a German of Cow castle, died on Home branch St. James G. Ck. May 1873 aged 75 or 80 years or over.  she was reduced from wealth to poverty by the Yankee roberies, and died poor, she was prudent, economical, and industrious.

Mrs. Jane Wimberly near Georges Sta. widow of George Wimberly and daughter of Daniel Infinger, died June 25th 1873.

Mrs. Eliza Bowyer widow of Wm. Bowyer and daughter of Capt. Daniel & Elizabeth Strobel died July 17th 1873 at Georges Sta.  her mother was my grand aunt, and who was daughter of John Aberly my great grand father.  She was wealthy and reduced to poverty by the roberies of the Yankee alias U. S. government.

Mrs. Nancy Berry widow of Jno Berry Orangeburg Disct on Cattles Ck died a few days ago, quite old, her maiden name was Platt a daughter of John Platt.  Dec 7th 1873.

Isaac Marion Dwight a native of St. John's Berkley So. Ca. a granson of Isaac Marion & grand-nephew of Gen. Francis Marion of the revolution of 1776.  Died in Boonville Missouri this fall 1874 aged about seventy five years (75) he graduated in So. Ca. College in 1877 [1817?].  He was like all of the Southern people robbed in 1865 of all his negroes, ad thereby reduced to poverty, and lived with his son Charles Dwight , who the roberies of the Yankee government in 1865 had emigrated to Missouri for a support and waS Engineer on a R. R.
